Altar Guild

Are you looking for a ministry that won’t take much time, makes people happy and is an integral part of the worship service? Well, may I make a suggestion? The St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Altar Guild could use an infusion of new members! At the moment, depending on the time of year, we have dwindled to 3 or 4 faithful members. If we could interest just 2 more people, each member would only need to prepare the altar for Sunday service about once a month, except for special services like Christmas and Easter week when we work as a team.

The responsibilities are easy to master and require less than an hour on Friday afternoon or Saturday, at your convenience. Most members pitch in after the service to tidy up, so the effort is easy and there is time for brief fellowship in the sacristy, which is special!

Anyone can become a member; you don’t have to be a woman of a certain age! (In fact, in the larger cathedrals, a man usually is the verger, an important member who orders supplies and assists with the heavier duties in a cathedral.) We’ll be glad to “train” you and we’ll assist until you know the proverbial “ropes.”

If you’re interested or would like more information, please contact Susan Warren.
