2010 ANNUAL MEETING:

Annual meeting was conducted by Senior Warden, Sam Harris and reports given by The Rev. Claudia Seiter, Senior Warden, Sam Harris, Altar Guild Director, Kathy Tenderholt, Sunday School Director, Tasha Harris and Music Director, Christina Sanchez. Reports follow. Financial and Treasurer's Report will be updated and finished at the end of March. Kirk Kristen and secretary, Susan Mathis, are working on getting all of our financial information into the church windows program and when finished, we will put a report in our newsletter. Our church computers were all down in December and everything had to be recreated by Kirk and Susan. It has been quite a job and they were both thanked for their hard work. Susan reported that we had about $6,000 in our checking account as of December 31st and our payroll is about $1900 per month.

Voting was held for three new Vestry members, two 3-year terms and one 2-year term and delegates to convention. Those elected were:

Two 3-year term: David Shaw and Leila Williams
2-year term: Nate McCord
Delegates: Mike Harris and Steve Marino

Present Vestry members who will continue:
Sam Harris, David Fast, Melanie Monahan and Mike Harris.

Claudia stated how important this year is for our delegates and their representation of St. Peter's. The delegates will attend a meeting for the election of a new bishop on May 22nd and the Episcopal Convention on November 5th. On November 6th, the installation of our new bishop will be held at the Grand America and this is really an elaborate and beautiful ceremony that happens so rarely. She encouraged all members of St. Peter's to attend if at all possible.

Necrology Report: Prayer given for Nelda McPeek who died in 2009.

Jesus taught us that death is not the enemy, the end, or the final answer. Death is GOD's invitation to come back to HIM and be with HIM forever. Death is where GOD invites us to be a part of the mystery of creation.

Rector's Annual Report St. Peter's Episcopal Church 2010

Annual reports are, by their very nature, a stroll down memory lane. They are a summary of the events (accomplishments and challenges) of the past year. Obviously, having become your new Rector at the beginning of January, I can't summarize St. Peter's past activities. Fortunately, the accompanying reports provide a record of last year's events. Having read them, it is apparent to me that St. Peter's is a place filled with good people of good will; people who are thoughtful, creative and dynamic.

Since I cannot look back, let me do a little looking forward. Over the next few months, we will have opportunities to get to know more about each other. Some of you have already made a point of dropping in for a little conversation. Thank you. You have made me feel welcomed and excited about building a partnership with you.

In these next few months, we'll figure out together - with the people of St. Michael's – how the yoking process can effectively work for us. Your ideas and concerns are important components to figuring this out. Nothing about the process is set in stone. So, please, as we have opportunities for conversations about this – be present – participate in this new St. Peter's adventure.

So often, as Episcopalians, we feel negatively impacted by being such a minority. It's great to have the actuality of linking with another parish (St. Mike's) for some united activities and ministries. I am deeply grateful to The Rev. Canon Ivan Cendese and The Rev. Deanna Sue Adams for their devoted assistance in this process. With you, we can make this work well. I look forward to hearing from you about ways and times you think sharing might be possible.

Of course, St. Peter's will always be its own distinctive parish. Yoking is not about destroying identity or mission. Yoking is about sharing, encouraging, and supporting. My hope is, that we will be able to look back on this time as a productive, growing period, in which, with God's help and grace, we will find new ways to bring the light of Christ into our lives and into the world.
Blessings

Senior Warden's Report for 2009 (Samuel I. Harris, Senior Warden)

I have been serving as Senior warden since October of 2009. In that short time we have shared many experiences, including the departure of our priest for the past 5 years, Susan Beem-Berry, and the installation of Claudia Seiter as our new priest. We welcome Claudia here to St. Peters. The mosaic that began in August is close to being completed and we have plans to install and dedicate this beautiful piece of work before the end of February. We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving potluck. We celebrated Advent with a part including a crafts and a play. We observed the progression from Nazareth to Bethlehem though the eyes of our children as they displayed their art depicting this remarkable story. The children's Christmas Eve service was a joyous occasion. Children in the congregation were invited to participate in the service explaining the birth of Christ.

Many wonderful things happened before I was asked to be Senior Warden, including:

Ongoing events, including:

Music Director's Report 2009 (Christina Sanchez)

Our ten-member choir is very committed and meets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings and sings twice a month. We sing a variety of music with an Easter cantata last year and the possibility of a Christmas cantata in 2010. My Goals are:

Altar Guild Director's Report 2009 (Kathy Tenderholt)

The Altar Guild is here to serve. We serve our Father in Heaven. We serve the priest, and we serve you. It is an honor and a privilege to serve. It is not a job squeezed in between shopping and lunch, but a chance to be in a quiet church, very often alone, but in God's presence and calm ourselves down and feel rested. We do the usual things, setting up the Altar for services, for weddings and funerals and decorate the church at Easter and Christmas. Do you ever wonder where the Easter lilies and Christmas poinsettias come from? Well, it's our job to pick them up, bring them to church and arrange them.

A couple of times a year, we clean the pews, the Altar rail, the window ledges, and generally help keep the sanctuary clean.

We also lauder all the linens, order supplies like wafer and wine and help to keep the church running smoothly.

We have eight women in the Altar Guild now, but would welcome anyone (men or women) that would like to join us.

Sunday School Director's Report 2009 (Tasha Harris)

In 2009 our congregation gained five new Sunday School teachers and three new Sunday School classes. They are as follows:

I would like to give many thanks of appreciation to all of our new Sunday School teachers. Thank you for guiding our children in their spiritual journeys.

Thank you to Erika Hall for her continued service to St. Peter's youngest members in the nursery.

Thank you to everyone that supported the youth of St. Peter's in their fundraising efforts for Camp Tuttle. The Chico Bag sales were well received by our parish. St. Peter's was one of the largest supporting parishes of the fundraiser.
