PLEDGES FOR 2010

Pledge Statements are ready and available on the table in the vestibule.
Thank you to all who filled out their forms and submitted them.

ARTISTS GUILD

Pat Magee and her crew are working on beautifying our parish hall with symbols and colors of the church. She welcomes
new people to help with this project.

VESTRY MEETING

All are welcome to attend Vestry Meetings and hear what is being discussed as well as give their own input. The next one
is May 3rd at 7:00pm at the church.

CAR / TRUCK BOOT SALE and BAKE SALE

The sale went well, even though we had only a few sellers. Great hamburgers were sold for $1 and baked sale goodies covered two tables.

One very generous donor bought a loaf of bread for $100. Many of our talented and generous bakers not only donated items, but bought them as well.

We had a donation of a nice wicker yard set which sold for $75.00 and really helped the total reach $526!
Many thanks to the bakers Tasha, Sue, Marlene, Sunday, Kathy & Judy. Also thanks to Dave & Jim who cooked hamburgers and Phil who chaired the whole event.

JUNE 1ST TIME CHANGE

Regular Sunday church services will begin at 9:30 a.m. beginning on June 1st. This will allow Claudia to cover both our service and St. Michael’s in Brigham City when Ivan and Deanna Sue are not available.

JUNE 13th SHARED MINISTRY AND BBQ

June 13th service will be held at St. Michael’s in Brigham City *instead* of at St. Peter’s. St. Michael’s is our new sister congregation, inherited along with the appointment of Claudia. To celebrate this and get to know our fellow members better, we well be sharing services with them in Brigham City. Afterwards, there will be food and fun, so mark your calendars! St. Michael’s is located at 589 South 200 East, Brigham City, UT. Service will be held at 11:30am. If you would like to carpool with someone, please contact Sam, who will be help make those arrangements. Carpoolers will meet at St. Peter’s and then drive up.

LET’S ALL TIDY UP THE NURSERY

Jessi spent a few hours the week before the sale sorting through the toys in the nursery. A few broken ones were disposed of and many more were made available for sale.

Our nursery is a much more organized and safer place as a result.

One thing noticed is that there are a lot of books, but they’re almost all soft page books, subject to destruction by little hands. If you see hard-back board books that would be appropriate for the church nursery, please bring them in! This will allow the softer books to be made available for ‘loan’ to older children during service.

As well, with getting rid of some toys, some others will likely be needed to replace them. While I’m sure there will be specific toys that will be requested, if you see a good deal on a toy safe for *3 and under*, please feel free to bring it to the church to donate.
An actual “Tidy Up the Nursery Day” may be planned at a future date. Keep and eye on the website and an ear out during announcements to listen for that date.

SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME

How many of you love to read, but would enjoy discussing the book with others? Several people were talking and want to put out feelers to see if there is any interest in starting a book club. No decisions have been made yet as to where, when, and what we’ll read; that should be a group decision. Sue W. is willing to get the ball rolling and facilitate this venture, but needs to know if there is any interest. We can start this spring or wait until fall. If you are interested and know of any relative, friend, and/or neighbor who would like to be a part of this club as well, they are more than welcome.
Any questions or interest, please let Sue W. know at church, by e-mail me, give her a call. She will be away for the month of June, so Christina S. will also be a contact person.

Potluck Sundays

We have a potluck once a month and we all enjoy them. Please take your turn and sign up for this important job as we can't have potlucks without set up and clean up. Thanks!

Opportunities for Service

New Church Directory

A new church directory is being prepared by our secretary, Susan Mathis. If you have an address change, phone number change, or any changes, please fill out a “Membership Directory” sheet with the changes for your family. These forms are on the table in the vestibule. Leave on the desk in the office. Note: If you did not receive a letter about your giving statement from St. Peter’s for 2009, please call our secretary Susan at 801-825-0177 as it is likely that we do not have a correct address for you.

We have e-mail addresses for many members and need to know if it’s okay to put your e-mail address in the printed directory. If you DO NOT want your e-mail published in the directory, please call the office and let Susan know or e-mial the office at stpetersadmin@gmail.com, or let Judy know. In addition, if you would like to have the newsletter e-mailed to you and are not currently receiving it, please let Susan know.

Mosaic

The Mosaic has been completed and hung! The Davis Standard - Examiner published an article about our mosaic:

Large mosaic becomes a source of inspiration for Clearfield parish

Prayers

We have a very active prayer chain where we pray for those requesting it for two or more times each day for two weeks time. After two weeks, we check in with them to see if they need more prayers. For those who are ill are going into surgery, we pray for healing and recovery. Those with other needs, we pray for those needs and longer than two weeks if the need is there. Kathy Tenderholt is the head of the prayer chain. If you would like to pray for people and have the time to call two other people to pass it on, please call Kathy at 801-544-3265. Also, if you would like to be put on the prayer chain, call Kathy with the details.
